Itinerary of the Journey
1 These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
Hizi ndizo safari za wana wa Israeli, hapo walipotoka nchi ya Misri kwa jeshi zao chini ya mkono wa Musa na Haruni.
2 And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
Musa akaandika jinsi walivyotoka katika safari zao, kwa amri ya Bwana; na hizi ndizo safari zao kama kutoka kwao kulivyokuwa.
3 And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
Wakasafiri kutoka Ramesesi mwezi wa kwanza, siku ya kumi na tano ya mwezi wa kwanza; siku ya pili baada ya Pasaka, wana wa Israeli wakatoka kwa mkono wa nguvu mbele ya macho ya Wamisri wote,
4 For the Egyptians buried all their firstborn, which the LORD had smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.
hapo Wamisri walipokuwa wanazika wazaliwa wa kwanza wao wote, Bwana aliokuwa amewapiga kati yao; Bwana akafanya hukumu juu ya miungu yao nayo.
5 And the children of Israel removed from Rameses, and pitched in Succoth.
Wana wa Israeli wakasafiri kutoka Ramesesi, wakapanga katika Sukothi.
6 And they departed from Succoth, and pitched in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.
Kisha wakasafiri kutoka Sukothi, wakapanga Ethamu, palipo katika mwisho wa nyika.
7 And they removed from Etham, and turned again unto Pi-hahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon: and they pitched before Migdol.
Wakasafiri kutoka Ethamu, na kurudi nyuma hata Pi-hahirothi palipokabili Baal-sefoni; wakapanga mbele ya Migdoli.
8 And they departed from before Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah.
Wakasafiri kutoka hapo mbele ya Hahirothi, wakapita katikati ya bahari na kuingia jangwani; kisha wakaenda safari ya siku tatu katika nyika ya Ethamu, wakapanga Mara.
9 And they removed from Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve fountains of water, and threescore and ten palm trees; and they pitched there.
Wakasafiri kutoka Mara, wakafikilia Elimu; huko Elimu palikuwa na chemchemi za maji kumi na mbili, na mitende sabini; nao wakapanga hapo.
10 And they removed from Elim, and encamped by the Red sea.
Wakasafiri kutoka Elimu wakapanga karibu na Bahari ya Shamu.
11 And they removed from the Red sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.
Wakasafiri kutoka Bahari ya Shamu, wakapanga katika nyika ya Sini.
12 And they took their journey out of the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.
Wakasafiri kutoka nyika ya Sini, wakapanga Dofka.
13 And they departed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.
Wakasafiri kutoka Dofka, wakapanga Alushi.
14 And they removed from Alush, and encamped at Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.
Wakasafiri kutoka Alushi, wakapanga Refidimu, ambapo hapakuwa na maji ya watu kunywa.
15 And they departed from Rephidim, and pitched in the wilderness of Sinai.
Wakasafiri kutoka Refidimu, wakapanga katika nyika ya Sinai.
16 And they removed from the desert of Sinai, and pitched at Kibroth-hattaavah.
Wakasafiri kutoka nyika ya Sinai, wakapanga Kibroth-hataava.
17 And they departed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped at Hazeroth.
Wakasafiri kutoka Kibroth-hataava, wakapanga Haserothi.
18 And they departed from Hazeroth, and pitched in Rithmah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Haserothi, wakapanga Rithma.
19 And they departed from Rithmah, and pitched at Rimmon-parez.
Wakasafiri kutoka Rithma, wakapanga Rimon-peresi.
20 And they departed from Rimmon-parez, and pitched in Libnah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Rimon-peresi, wakapanga Libna.
21 And they removed from Libnah, and pitched at Rissah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Libna, wakapanga Risa.
22 And they journeyed from Rissah, and pitched in Kehelathah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Risa, wakapanga Keheletha.
23 And they went from Kehelathah, and pitched in mount Shapher.
Wakasafiri kutoka Keheletha, wakapanga katika mlima wa Sheferi
24 And they removed from mount Shapher, and encamped in Haradah.
Wakasafiri kutoka huo mlima wa Sheferi, wakapanga Harada.
25 And they removed from Haradah, and pitched in Makheloth.
Wakasafiri kutoka Harada, wakapanga Makelothi.
26 And they removed from Makheloth, and encamped at Tahath.
Wakasafiri kutoka Makelothi, wakapanga Tahathi.
27 And they departed from Tahath, and pitched at Tarah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Tahathi wakapanga Tera.
28 And they removed from Tarah, and pitched in Mithcah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Tera, wakapanga Mithka.
29 And they went from Mithcah, and pitched in Hashmonah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Mithka, wakapanga Hashmona.
30 And they departed from Hashmonah, and encamped at Moseroth.
Wakasafiri kutoka Hashmona, wakapanga Moserothi.
31 And they departed from Moseroth, and pitched in Bene-jaakan.
Wakasafiri kutoka Moserothi, wakapanga Bene-yakani.
32 And they removed from Bene-jaakan, and encamped at Hor-hagidgad.
Wakasafiri kutoka Bene-yakani, wakapanga Hor-hagidgadi.
33 And they went from Hor-hagidgad, and pitched in Jotbathah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Hor-hagidgadi, wakapanga Yotbatha.
34 And they removed from Jotbathah, and encamped at Ebronah.
Wakasafiri kutoka Yotbatha, wakapanga Abrona.
35 And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Ezion-geber.
Wakasafiri kutoka Abrona, wakapanga Esion-geberi.
36 And they removed from Ezion-geber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.
Wakasafiri kutoka Esion-geberi, wakapanga katika nyika ya Sini (ni Kadeshi).
37 And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.
Wakasafiri kutoka Kadeshi wakapanga katika mlima wa Hori, katika mpaka wa nchi ya Edomu,
38 And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
Haruni akakwea mlima wa Hori, kwa amri ya Bwana, akafa hapo, katika mwaka wa arobaini baada ya wana wa Israeli kutoka katika nchi ya Misri, mwezi wa tano, siku ya kwanza ya mwezi.
39 And Aaron was an hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor.
Naye Haruni alikuwa mtu wa umri wa miaka mia na ishirini na mitatu hapo alipokufa katika mlima wa Hori.
40 And king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.
Ndipo Mkanaani, mfalme wa Aradi, aliyekaa pande za Negebu katika nchi ya Kanaani akasikia habari za kuja kwao wana wa Israeli.
41 And they departed from mount Hor, and pitched in Zalmonah.
Nao wakasafiri kutoka mlima wa Hori, wakapanga Salmona.
42 And they departed from Zalmonah, and pitched in Punon.
Wakasafiri kutoka Salmona, wakapanga Punoni.
43 And they departed from Punon, and pitched in Oboth.
Wakasafiri kutoka Punoni, wakapanga Obothi.
44 And they departed from Oboth, and pitched in Ije-abarim, in the border of Moab.
Wakasafiri kutoka Obothi, wakapanga Iye-abarimu, katika mpaka wa Moabu.
45 And they departed from Iim, and pitched in Dibon-gad.
Wakasafiri kutoka Iye-abarimu, wakapanga Dibon-gadi.
46 And they removed from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.
Wakasafiri kutoka Dibon-gadi, wakapanga Almon-diblathaimu.
47 And they removed from Almon-diblathaim, and pitched in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
Wakasafiri kutoka Almon-diblathaimu, wakapanga katika milima ya Abarimu, kukabili Nebo.
48 And they departed from the mountains of Abarim, and pitched in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
Wakasafiri kutoka hiyo milima ya Abarimu, wakapanga katika nchi tambarare za Moabu, karibu na mto wa Yordani, hapo Yeriko.
49 And they pitched by Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even unto Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.
Wakapanga karibu na Yordani, tangu Beth-yeshimothi hata kufikilia Abel-shitimu katika nchi tambarare za Moabu.
Division of Canaan
50 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
Kisha Bwana akanena na Musa hapo katika nchi tambarare za Moabu, karibu na Yordani, hapo Yeriko, na kumwambia,
51 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan;
Nena na wana wa Israeli, uwaambie, Mtakapovuka mto wa Yordani na kuingia nchi ya Kanaani,
52 then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:
ndipo mtakapowafukuza wenyeji wote wa hiyo nchi mbele yenu, nanyi mtayaharibu mawe yao yote yenye kuchorwa sanamu, na kuziharibu sanamu zao zote za kusubu, kuvunja-vunja mahali pao pote palipoinuka;
53 and ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
nanyi mtaishika hiyo nchi kuimiliki na kuketi humo; kwa kuwa mimi nimewapa ninyi hiyo nchi ili mwimiliki.
54 And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.
Nanyi mtairithi nchi kwa kufanya kura, kama jamaa zenu zilivyo; hao walio wengi mtawapa urithi zaidi, na hao waliopunguka utawapa kama kupunguka kwao; mahali po pote kura itakapomwangukia mtu ye yote, mahali hapo ni pake; mtarithi kama kabila za baba zenu zilivyo.
55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
Lakini kama hamtaki kuwafukuza wenyeji wa nchi watoke mbele yenu; ndipo hao ambao mtakaowasaza watakuwa kama sindano machoni mwenu, na kama miiba ubavuni mwenu, nao watawasumbua katika hiyo nchi ambayo mwakaa.
56 Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.
Kisha itakuwa, kama nilivyoazimia kuwatenda wao, ndivyo nitakavyowatenda ninyi.
