God and the Nations
1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
Maneno ya Amosii, aliyekuwa mmoja wa wachungaji wa Tekoa; maono aliyoyaona katika habari za Israeli, siku za Uzia, mfalme wa Yuda, na siku za Yeroboamu, mwana wa Yoashi, mfalme wa Israeli, miaka miwili kabla ya tetemeko la nchi.
2 And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
Naye alisema, Bwana atanguruma toka Sayuni, Atatoa sauti yake toka Yerusalemu; Na malisho ya wachungaji yataomboleza, Na kilele cha Karmeli kitanyauka.
Damascus
3 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
Haya ndiyo asemayo Bwana; Kwa makosa matatu ya Dameski, naam, kwa manne, sitaizuia adhabu yake isimpate; kwa sababu wameipura Gileadi kwa vyombo vya kupuria vya chuma;
4 but I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
lakini nitapeleka moto uingie katika nyumba ya Hazaeli, nao utayateketeza majumba ya Ben-hadadi.
5 I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
Nami nitalivunja komeo la Dameski, na kuwakatilia mbali wenyeji wa bondeni mwa Aveni, na yeye aishikaye fimbo ya enzi katika Beth-Adini; na watu wa Shamu watakwenda hali ya kufungwa hata Kiri, asema Bwana.
Gaza
6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
Haya ndiyo asemayo Bwana; Kwa makosa matatu ya Gaza, naam, kwa manne, sitaizuia adhabu yake isimpate; kwa sababu waliichukua katika hali ya kufungwa kabila nzima, wawatie katika mikono ya Edomu;
7 but I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
lakini nitapeleka moto juu ya ukuta wa Gaza, nao utayateketeza majumba yake.
8 and I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
Nami nitamkatilia mbali mwenyeji katika Ashdodi; na yeye aishikaye fimbo ya enzi katika Ashkeloni; nami nitaugeuza mkono wangu uwe juu ya Ekroni; na mabaki ya Wafilisti wataangamia, asema Bwana MUNGU.
Tyre
9 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
Haya ndiyo asemayo Bwana; Kwa makosa matatu ya Tiro, naam, kwa manne, sitaizuia adhabu yake isimpate; kwa sababu wameitia kabila nzima katika mikono ya Edomu, wala hawakulikumbuka agano la udugu;
10 but I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
lakini nitapeleka moto juu ya ukuta wa Tiro, nao utayateketeza majumba yake.
Edom
11 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
Haya ndiyo asemayo Bwana; Kwa makosa matatu ya Edomu, naam, kwa manne, sitaizuia adhabu yake isimpate; kwa sababu alimfuatia ndugu yake kwa upanga, akatupilia mbali huruma zake zote; hasira yake ikararua-rarua daima, akaishika ghadhabu yake milele;
12 but I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
lakini nitapeleka moto juu ya Temani, nao utayateketeza majumba ya Bosra.
Ammon
13 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
Haya ndiyo asemayo Bwana; Kwa makosa matatu ya wana wa Amoni, naam, kwa manne, sitaizuia adhabu yake isimpate; kwa sababu wamewapasua wanawake wa Gileadi wenye mimba, ili wapate kuongeza mipaka yao;
14 but I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
lakini nitawasha moto katika ukuta wa Raba, nao utayateketeza majumba yake; pamoja na kupiga kelele siku ya vita, pamoja na tufani katika siku ya chamchela;
15 and their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
na mfalme wao atakwenda utumwani, yeye na wakuu wake wote pamoja, asema Bwana.
