1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Ole wao wachungaji, wanaoharibu kondoo za malisho yangu na kuwatawanya! Asema Bwana.
2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Kwa sababu hiyo Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, juu ya wachungaji wanaowalisha watu wangu, Mmetawanya kundi langu, na kuwafukuza, wala hamkwenda kuwatazama; angalieni, nitawapatiliza uovu wa matendo yenu, asema Bwana.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
Nami nitakusanya mabaki ya kundi langu, katika nchi zile zote nilizowafukuza, nami nitawaleta tena mazizini mwao; nao watazaa na kuongezeka.
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
Nami nitaweka juu yao wachungaji watakaowalisha; wala hawataona hofu tena, wala kufadhaika, wala hatapotea hata mmoja wao, asema Bwana.
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Tazama siku zinakuja, asema Bwana, nitakapomchipushia Daudi Chipukizi la haki; naye atamiliki mfalme, atatenda kwa hekima, naye atafanya hukumu na haki katika nchi.
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Katika siku zake Yuda ataokolewa, na Israeli atakaa salama, na jina lake atakaloitwa ni hili, Bwana ni haki yetu.
7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
Kwa hiyo, angalia, siku zinakuja, asema Bwana, ambapo hawatasema tena, Aishivyo Bwana, aliyewatoa wana wa Israeli katika nchi ya Misri;
8 but, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.
lakini, Aishivyo Bwana, aliyewapandisha na kuwaongoza wazao wa nyumba ya Israeli kutoka nchi ya kaskazini, na kutoka nchi zote nilikowafukuza; nao watakaa katika nchi yao wenyewe.
Unworthy Prophets and Priests
9 Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
Katika habari za manabii. Moyo wangu ndani yangu umevunjika, Mifupa yangu yote inatikisika. Nimekuwa kama mtu aliye mlevi, Na kama mtu aliyeshindwa na divai; kwa ajili ya Bwana, na kwa ajili ya maneno yake matakatifu.
10 For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
Maana nchi imejaa wazinzi; kwa sababu ya kuapa nchi inaomboleza; malisho ya nyikani yamekauka; mwenendo wao ni mbaya, na nguvu zao si za haki.
11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
Maana nabii, na kuhani, wote wawili wanakufuru; naam, katika nyumba yangu nimeuona uovu wao, asema Bwana.
12 Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
Kwa ajili ya hayo njia yao itakuwa kwao kama mahali pa kuteleza gizani; watatelemshwa na kuanguka hapo; kwa maana nitaleta uovu juu yao, naam, mwaka wa kujiliwa kwao, asema Bwana.
13 And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
Nami nimeona upumbavu katika manabii wa Samaria; walitabiri kwa Baali, wakawakosesha watu wangu Israeli.
14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Katika manabii wa Yerusalemu nimeona neno linalochukiza sana; hufanya zinaa; huenenda katika maneno ya uongo, hutia nguvu mikono ya watendao maovu, hata ikawa hapana mtu arejeaye na kuuacha uovu wake; wote pia wamekuwa kama Sodoma kwangu, na wenyeji wake kama Gomora.
15 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
Basi Bwana wa majeshi asema hivi, katika habari ya manabii, Tazama, nitawalisha pakanga, nitawanywesha maji ya uchungu; kwa kuwa kutoka kwa manabii hao wa Yerusalemu kukufuru kumeingia katika nchi yote.
16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
Bwana wa majeshi asema hivi, Msisikilize maneno ya manabii wakiwatabiria; huwafundisha ubatili; hunena maono ya mioyo yao wenyewe; hayakutoka katika kinywa cha Bwana.
17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
Daima huwaambia wao wanaonidharau, Bwana amesema, Mtakuwa na amani; nao humwambia kila mtu aendaye kwa ukaidi wa moyo wake, Hamtapatwa na ubaya wo wote.
18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
Maana, ni nani aliyesimama katika baraza la Bwana, hata akalifahamu neno lake na kulisikia? Ni nani aliyelitia moyoni neno langu, na kulisikia?
19 Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
Tazama, tufani ya Bwana, yaani, ghadhabu yake, imetokea; ni dhoruba ya kisulisuli; itapasuka, na kuwaangukia waovu vichwani.
20 The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
Hasira ya Bwana haitarudi, hata atakapokwisha kuyatimiza makusudi ya moyo wake; katika siku za mwisho mtalifahamu neno hili kabisa.
21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
Mimi sikuwatuma manabii hao, lakini walikwenda mbio; sikusema nao, lakini walitabiri.
22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Lakini kama wangalisimama katika baraza yangu, ndipo wangaliwasikizisha watu wangu maneno yangu, na kuwageuza waziache njia zao mbaya, na uovu wa matendo yao.
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Mimi ni Mungu aliye karibu, asema Bwana, mimi si Mungu aliye mbali.
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
Je, mtu ye yote aweza kujificha mahali pa siri, nisimwone? Asema Bwana. Je! Mbingu na nchi hazikujawa nami? Asema Bwana.
25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
Nimesikia waliyoyasema manabii wanaotabiri uongo kwa jina langu, wakisema, Nimeota ndoto; nimeota ndoto.
26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
Je! Mambo hayo yatakuwa katika mioyo ya manabii wanaotabiri uongo hata lini, manabii hao wenye udanganyifu katika mioyo yao wenyewe?
27 which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.
Wanaodhania ya kuwa watawasahaulisha watu wangu jina langu kwa ndoto zao, wanazomhadithia kila mtu jirani yake, kama vile baba zao walivyolisahau jina langu, kwa ajili ya Baali.
28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Nabii aliye na ndoto, na aseme ndoto yake; na yeye aliye na neno langu, na aseme neno langu kwa uaminifu. Makapi ni kitu gani kuliko ngano? Asema Bwana.
29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Je! Neno langu si kama moto? Asema Bwana; na kama nyundo ivunjayo mawe vipande vipande?
30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Basi kwa sababu hiyo mimi ni juu ya manabii hao, asema Bwana, wanaompokonya kila mtu jirani yake maneno yangu.
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.
Tazama, mimi ni juu ya manabii, asema Bwana, wanaotumia ndimi zao na kusema, Yeye asema,
32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
Tazama, mimi ni juu ya hao wanaotabiri ndoto za uongo, asema Bwana, na kuzisema, na kuwakosesha watu wangu kwa uongo wao, na kwa majivuno yao ya upuzi, lakini mimi sikuwatuma, wala sikuwapa amri; wala hawatawafaidia watu hawa hata kidogo, asema Bwana.
33 And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD.
Na watu hawa, au nabii au kuhani, atakapokuuliza, akisema, Mzigo wa Bwana ni nini? Ndipo utawaambia, Mzigo gani? Bwana asema, Nitawatupilia mbali.
34 And as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of the LORD, I will even punish that man and his house.
Na katika habari ya nabii, na kuhani, na watu, watakaosema, Mzigo wa Bwana, mimi nitamwadhibu mtu yule, na nyumba yake.
35 Thus shall ye say every one to his neighbour, and every one to his brother, What hath the LORD answered? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
Mtasema hivi kila mtu na jirani yake, na kila mtu na ndugu yake, Bwana amejibu mtu? Na, Bwana amesemaje?
36 And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man's word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.
Na mzigo wa Bwana hamtautaja tena; maana neno la kila mtu ndilo litakalokuwa mzigo wake; maana ninyi mmeyapotosha maneno ya Mungu aliye hai, ya Bwana wa majeshi, Mungu wetu.
37 Thus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath the LORD answered thee? and, What hath the LORD spoken?
Nawe utamwambia nabii hivi, Bwana amekujibu nini? Na, Bwana amesemaje?
38 But since ye say, The burden of the LORD; therefore thus saith the LORD; Because ye say this word, The burden of the LORD, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of the LORD;
Lakini mkisema, Mzigo wa Bwana, basi, Bwana asema hivi, Kwa sababu mwasema neno hili, (Mzigo wa Bwana); nami nimemtuma mtu kwenu kusema, Msiseme, (Mzigo wa Bwana);
39 therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:
basi, kwa hiyo angalieni, nitawasahau ninyi kabisa, nami nitawatupilia mbali, pamoja na mji huu niliowapa ninyi na baba zenu, mtoke mbele za uso wangu;
40 and I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.
nami nitaleta juu yenu aibu ya milele, na fedheha ya daima, ambayo haitasahauliwa.
