1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
Na mwanadamu atakuwa kama mahali pa kujificha na upepo, na mahali pa kujisitiri na dhoruba; kama mito ya maji mahali pakavu, kama kivuli cha mwamba mkubwa katika nchi yenye uchovu.
3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
Tena macho yao waonao hayatakuwa na kiwi, na masikio yao wasikiao yatasikiliza.
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
Tena moyo wa mtu mwenye hamaki utafahamu maarifa, na ndimi zao wenye kigugumizi zitakuwa tayari kunena sawasawa.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
Mpumbavu hataitwa tena mwungwana, wala ayari hatasemwa kwamba ni karimu.
6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
Maana mpumbavu atanena yaliyo upumbavu, na moyo wake utafanya maovu, ili kutenda hila na kusema yasiyo kweli juu ya Bwana, ili kuziacha nafsi za watu wenye njaa hazina kitu, na kukikomesha kinywaji chake mwenye kiu.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
Tena vyombo vyake ayari ni vibaya; hutunga hila mbaya, ili kuwaangamiza wanyonge kwa maneno ya uongo, mtu mhitaji ajaposema maneno yenye haki.
8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
Bali mwungwana huwaza mambo ya kiungwana, naye hushika sana mambo ya kiungwana.
Women of Jerusalem
9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
Inukeni, enyi wanawake wenye raha, isikieni sauti yangu; enyi binti za watu msiokuwa na uangalifu, tegeni masikio yenu msikie matamko yangu.
10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
Maana mtataabishwa siku kadha wa kadha zaidi ya mwaka, enyi wanawake mliojikinai; kwa sababu mavuno ya mizabibu yatakoma, wakati wa kuvuna vitu vya mashamba hautakuja.
11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
Tetemekeni, enyi wanawake wenye raha; taabikeni, enyi msiokuwa na uangalifu; jivueni, jivueni nguo zenu kabisa, jivikeni viuno nguo za magunia.
12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
Watajipiga vifua kwa ajili ya mashamba mazuri, kwa ajili ya mzabibu uliozaa sana.
13 Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:
Juu ya nchi ya watu wangu itamea michongoma na mibigili; naam, juu ya nyumba za furaha katika mji ulio na shangwe;
14 because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;
maana jumba la mfalme litaachwa; mji uliokuwa na watu wengi utakuwa hauna mtu; kilima na mnara utakuwa makao ya wanyama milele, furaha ya punda-mwitu, malisho ya makundi ya kondoo;
15 until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
hata roho itakapomwagwa juu yetu kutoka juu; hata jangwa litakapokuwa shamba lizaalo sana; nalo shamba lizaalo sana litakapohesabiwa kuwa msitu.
16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
Ndipo hukumu itakaa katika jangwa, na haki itakaa katika shamba lizaalo sana.
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Na kazi ya haki itakuwa amani; na mazao ya haki yatakuwa ni utulivu na matumaini daima.
18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
Na watu wangu watakaa katika kao la amani; na katika maskani zilizo salama, na katika mahali pa kupumzikia penye utulivu.
19 when it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
Lakini mvua ya mawe itakunya, wakati wa kuangushwa miti ya msituni; na huo mji utadhilika.
20 Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.
Heri ninyi mpandao mbegu kando ya maji yote, na kuiacha miguu ya ng'ombe na punda waende ko kote.
