Jehoiakim
1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
Katika siku zake akakwea Nebukadreza, mfalme wa Babeli na Yehoyakimu akawa mtumishi wake muda wa miaka mitatu; kisha, akageuka, akamwasi.
2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
Naye Bwana akatuma juu yake vikosi vya Wakaldayo, na vikosi vya Washami, na vikosi vya Wamoabi, na vikosi vya wana wa Amoni, akawatuma juu ya Yuda ili kuiharibu, sawasawa na neno la Bwana alilolinena kwa mkono wa watumishi wake manabii.
3 Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
Hakika kwa amri ya Bwana mambo hayo yalimpata Yuda, ili waondoshwe kutoka machoni pake, kwa sababu ya dhambi zake Manase, kadiri ya yote aliyoyafanya;
4 and also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.
tena kwa ajili ya damu zisizo na hatia alizozimwaga; kwani aliujaza Yerusalemu damu zisizo na hatia; wala Bwana hakukubali kusamehe.
5 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Basi mambo yote ya Yehoyakimu yaliyosalia, na yote aliyoyafanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Yuda?
6 So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
Yehoyakimu akalala na babaze; na mwanawe Yekonia akatawala mahali pake.
7 And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt.
Basi mfalme wa Misri hakuja tena kutoka nchi yake; kwa kuwa mfalme wa Babeli alikuwa amemnyang'anya nchi, tangu kijito cha Misri mpaka mto wa Frati, yote aliyokuwa nayo mfalme wa Misri.
Jehoiachin
8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
Yekonia alikuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na minane alipoanza kutawala; akatawala miezi mitatu katika Yerusalemu; na jina la mama yake aliitwa Nehushta binti Elnathani wa Yerusalemu.
9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done.
Akafanya yaliyo mabaya machoni pa Bwana, mfano wa yote aliyoyafanya baba yake.
Fall of Jerusalem
10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
Wakati ule watumishi wa Nebukadreza mfalme wa Babeli wakakwea kwenda Yerusalemu, na mji ukahusuriwa.
11 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it.
Na Nebukadreza, mfalme wa Babeli, akaufikilia huo mji, hapo watumishi wake walipokuwa wakiuhusuru.
12 And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign.
Na Yekonia, mfalme wa Yuda, akatoka akamwendea mfalme wa Babeli, yeye na mama yake, na watumishi wake, na wakuu wa watu wake, na maakida wake; mfalme wa Babeli akamchukua mateka katika mwaka wa nane wa kutawala kwake.
13 And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said.
Akatoa huko hazina zote za nyumba ya Bwana, na hazina za nyumba ya mfalme, akavikata-kata vyombo vyote vya dhahabu ambavyo Sulemani, mfalme wa Israeli, alivifanya katika hekalu la Bwana, kama Bwana alivyosema.
14 And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
Akawachukua mateka watu wa Yerusalemu wote pia, na wakuu wote, na mashujaa wote, watu elfu kumi; na mafundi wote, na wafua chuma wote; hapana mtu aliyebaki, ila waliokuwa wanyonge wa watu wa nchi.
15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
Akamchukua Yekonia mpaka Babeli; na mama yake mfalme, na wake zake mfalme, na maakida wake, na wakuu wa nchi, aliwachukua mateka toka Yerusalemu mpaka Babeli.
16 And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
Na mashujaa wote, watu elfu saba, na mafundi na wafua chuma elfu moja, wote pia wenye nguvu, tayari kwa vita, hao wote mfalme wa Babeli aliwachukua mateka mpaka Babeli.
17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
Mfalme wa Babeli akamtawaza Matania, ndugu ya baba yake, awe mfalme badala yake, akalibadili jina lake, akamwita Sedekia.
18 Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
Sedekia alikuwa na umri wa miaka ishirini na mmoja alipoanza kutawala; akatawala miaka kumi na mmoja katika Yerusalemu; na jina la mamaye aliitwa Hamutali, binti Yeremia wa Libna.
19 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
Akafanya yaliyo mabaya machoni pa Bwana, sawasawa na yote aliyoyafanya Yehoyakimu.
20 For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Maana kwa sababu ya hasira ya Bwana mambo hayo yalitokea katika Yerusalemu na katika Yuda, hata alipokuwa amewaondosha wasiwe mbele ya uso wake; naye Sedekia akamwasi mfalme wa Babeli.
