1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month , in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
Ikawa katika mwaka wa thelathini, mwezi wa nne, siku ya tano ya mwezi, nilipokuwa pamoja na watu waliohamishwa, karibu na mto Kebari, mbingu zilifunuka, nikaona maono ya Mungu.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
Siku ya tano ya mwezi, nao ulikuwa ni mwaka wa tano wa kuhamishwa kwake mfalme Yehoyakini,
3 the word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
neno la Bwana lilimjia Ezekielii, kuhani, mwana wa Buzi, kwa dhahiri, katika nchi ya Wakaldayo, karibu na mto Kebari; na mkono wa Bwana ulikuwa hapo juu yake.
His Vision
4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Nikaona, na tazama, upepo wa dhoruba ulitoka upande wa kaskazini, wingu kubwa sana, pamoja na moto, ukifanya duara ya nuru, na mwangaza pande zote, na katikati yake kitu kama rangi ya kaharabu, katikati ya moto huo.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
Kukatokea katikati yake mfano wa viumbe hai vinne. Kuonekana kwao kulikuwa hivi; walikuwa na sura ya mwanadamu.
6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
Na kila mmoja alikuwa na nyuso nne, na kila mmoja alikuwa na mabawa manne.
7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Na miguu yao ilikuwa miguu iliyonyoka; na nyayo za miguu yao zilikuwa kama nyayo za miguu ya ndama; zikimetameta kama rangi ya shaba iliyosuguliwa sana.
8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Nao walikuwa na mikono ya mwanadamu chini ya mabawa yao, pande zote nne; na wote wanne walikuwa na nyuso zao na mabawa yao hivi;
9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
mabawa yao yaliungana, hili na hili; nao hawakugeuka walipokwenda, walikwenda kila mmoja kuelekea mbele.
10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Kwa habari za mfano wa nyuso zao; walikuwa na uso wa mwanadamu; na hao wanne walikuwa na uso wa simba upande wa kuume; na hao wanne walikuwa na uso wa ng'ombe upande wa kushoto; na hao wanne walikuwa na uso wa tai pia.
11 Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Na nyuso zao na mabawa yao yalikuwa yametengana kwa juu; mabawa mawili ya kila mmoja yaliungana, hili na hili, na mawili yalifunika miili yao.
12 And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
Nao walikwenda kuelekea mbele, kila mmoja wao; roho ilikotaka kwenda ndiko walikokwenda; hawakugeuka walipokwenda.
13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Kwa habari za kuonekana kwao vile viumbe hai; kuonekana kwao kulikuwa kama makaa ya moto yawakayo, kama kuonekana kwa vinga vya moto; moto ule ulikuwa ukienda juu na kushuka chini, katikati ya vile viumbe hai; na ule moto ulikuwa na mwangaza mwingi, na katika ule moto ulitoka umeme.
14 And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Na vile viumbe hai walipiga mbio, kwenda na kurudi, kama kuonekana kwa kumulika kwa umeme.
15 Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
Basi, nilipokuwa nikivitazama vile viumbe hai, tazama, gurudumu moja juu ya nchi, karibu na kila kimoja cha vile viumbe hai, pande zake zote nne.
16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
Kuonekana kwake magurudumu hayo na kazi yake kulikuwa kama rangi ya zabarajadi; nayo yote manne yalikuwa na mfano mmoja; na kuonekana kwake na kazi yake kulikuwa kana kwamba ni gurudumu ndani ya gurudumu lingine.
17 When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
Yalipokwenda yalikwenda pande zote nne; hayakugeuka yalipokwenda.
18 As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
Katika habari za vivimbe vyake; vilikuwa virefu, vya kutisha; nayo yote manne, vivimbe vyake vimejaa macho pande zote.
19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Na viumbe hao walipokwenda, magurudumu yalikwenda kandokando yao, na viumbe hao walipoinuliwa, magurudumu nayo yaliinuliwa.
20 Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Kila mahali ambako roho hiyo ilitaka kwenda, walikwenda; walikuwa na roho ya kwenda huko; nayo magurudumu yaliinuliwa karibu nao; kwa maana roho ya viumbe hai ilikuwa ndani ya magurudumu.
21 When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Walipokwenda hao, yalikwenda hayo nayo; na waliposimama hao, yalisimama hayo nayo; na walipoinuliwa hao juu ya nchi, magurudumu yaliinuliwa karibu nao; maana roho ya viumbe hai ilikuwa ndani ya magurudumu.
22 And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Tena juu ya vichwa vya viumbe hai palikuwa na kitu mfano wa anga, kama rangi ya bilauri, lenye kutisha, limetandwa juu ya vichwa vyao.
23 And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
Na chini ya anga mabawa yao yamenyoshwa, moja kulielekea la pili; kila mmoja alikuwa na mawili yaliyowafunika miili yao upande mmoja, na kila mmoja alikuwa na mawili yaliyowafunika miili yao upande wa pili.
24 And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
Nao walipokwenda nalisikia mshindo wa mabawa yao, kama mshindo wa maji makuu, kama sauti yake Mwenyezi, mshindo wa mvumo, kama mshindo wa jeshi; hapo waliposimama walishusha mabawa yao.
25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
Tena palikuwa na sauti juu ya anga lile, lililokuwa juu ya vichwa vyao; hapo waliposimama walishusha mabawa yao.
26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
Na juu ya anga, lililokuwa juu ya vichwa vyao, palikuwa na mfano wa kiti cha enzi, kuonekana kwake kama yakuti samawi; na juu ya mfano huo wa kiti cha enzi, ulikuwako mfano kama kuonekana kwa mfano wa mwanadamu juu yake.
27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Nikaona kana kwamba ni rangi ya kaharabu, kama kuonekana kwa moto ndani yake pande zote, tangu kuonekana kwa viuno vyake na juu; na tangu kuonekana kwa viuno vyake na chini, naliona kana kwamba ni kuonekana kwa moto; tena palikuwa na mwangaza pande zake zote.
28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it , I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
Kama kuonekana kwa upinde wa mvua, ulio katika mawingu siku ya mvua, ndivyo kulivyokuwa kuonekana kwa mwangaza ule pande zote. Ndivyo kulivyokuwa kuonekana kwake mfano huo wa utukufu wa Bwana. Nami nilipoona nalianguka kifudifudi, nikasikia sauti ya mmoja anenaye.
