The Tabernacle
1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
Kisha mkutano mzima wa wana wa Israeli walikutana pamoja hapo Shilo, wakasimamisha hema ya kukutania kuko; nayo nchi ilikuwa imeshindwa mbele zao.
2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
Zilisalia katika wana wa Israeli kabila saba ambazo hazijagawanyiwa bado urithi wao.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
Yoshua akawauliza wana wa Israeli, akasema, Je! Hata lini mtakuwa walegevu katika kuingia kwenu na kuimiliki hiyo nchi, ambayo yeye Bwana, Mungu wa baba zenu, amewapa?
4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
Haya, jichagulieni watu watatu kwa ajili ya kila kabila; nami nitawatuma, nao watainuka waende kati ya hiyo nchi, na kuiandika kama urithi wao ulivyo; kisha watanijilia mimi.
5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
Watu hao wataigawanya nchi iwe mafungu saba; Yuda atakaa katika mpaka wake huko upande wa kusini, na nyumba ya Yusufu watakaa katika mpaka wao upande wa kaskazini.
6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the LORD our God.
Nanyi mtaiandika nchi iwe mafungu saba, kisha hayo maandiko yake mtaniletea mimi hapa; nami nitawapigia kura hapa mbele ya Bwana, Mungu wetu.
7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the LORD is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave them.
Kwa maana Walawi hawana fungu kati yenu; Kwa kuwa huo ukuhani wa Bwana ndio urithi wao; tena Gadi, na Reubeni, na hiyo nusu ya kabila ya Manase, wamekwisha pata urithi wao ng'ambo ya pili ya Yordani upande wa mashariki, ambao walipewa na Musa, mtumishi wa Bwana.
8 And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the LORD in Shiloh.
Basi watu hao wakainuka wakaenda; kisha Yoshua aliwaagiza wale waliokwenda kuiandika nchi, akawaambia, Endeni, mkapite katikati ya nchi, na kuiandika habari zake, kisha mnijie tena hapa, nami nitawapigia kura kwa ajili yenu hapo mbele za Bwana huko Shilo.
9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.
Basi watu hao wakaenda, wakapita katikati ya nchi, wakaandika habari zake katika chuo, na kuigawanya kwa miji yake, hata iwe mafungu saba, kisha wakamrejea Yoshua maragoni huko Shilo.
10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the LORD: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.
Kisha Yoshua akapiga kura kwa ajili yao hapo mbele za Bwana katika Shilo; huko Yoshua akawagawanyia wana wa Israeli hiyo nchi sawasawa na mafungu yao.
11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
Kisha ilizuka kura ya kabila ya wana wa Benyamini kwa kuandama jamaa zao; na mpaka wa hiyo kura yao ukatokea kati ya wana wa Yuda na wana wa Yusufu.
12 And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.
Mpaka wao upande wa kaskazini ulikuwa kutoka mto wa Yordani; kisha mpaka ukaendelea kufikilia ubavuni mwa mji wa Yeriko upande wa kaskazini, kisha ukaendelea kati ya nchi ya vilima kwa kuelekea upande wa magharibi; na matokeo yake yalikuwa hapo penye nyika ya Bethaveni.
13 And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Beth-el, southward; and the border descended to Ataroth-addar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Beth-horon.
Kisha mpaka ukaendelea kutoka hapo na kufikilia mji wa Luzu, ubavuni mwa Luzu (ndio Betheli), kwa upande wa kusini; kisha mpaka ukatelemkia Ataroth-adari, karibu na mlima ulio upande wa kusini wa Beth-horoni wa chini.
14 And the border was drawn thence , and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Beth-horon southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.
Kisha mpaka uliendelea na kuzunguka upande wa magharibi wa kuelekea kusini, kutoka huo mlima ulio mkabala wa Beth-horoni upande wa kusini; na matokeo yake yalikuwa hapo Kiriath-baali (ndio Kiriath-yearimu), ni mji wa wana wa Yuda; huo ndio upande wa magharibi.
15 And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjath-jearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:
Na upande wa kusini ulikuwa ukitoka upande wa mwisho wa Kiriath-yearimu, na mpaka ukatokea upande wa magharibi, ukaendelea hata chemchemi ya maji, pale Neftoa;
16 and the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to En-rogel,
kisha mpaka ulitelemka hata mwisho wa mlima ulio pale mkabala wa bonde la mwana wa Hinomu, lililo pale katika bonde la Warefai, upande wa kaskazini; nao ukatelemkia mpaka bonde la Hinomu, hata ubavuni mwa Myebusi upande wa kusini, kisha ukatelemka hata Enrogeli,
17 and was drawn from the north, and went forth to En-shemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,
kisha ulipigwa upande wa kaskazini, nao ukatokea hapo Enshemeshi, ukatokea hata kufikilia Gelilothi, ambao ni mkabala wa makweleo ya Adumimu; kisha ulitelemka hata jiwe la Bohani mwana wa Reubeni;
18 and passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:
kisha ukaendelea mbele ubavuni kuikabili Araba, upande wa kuelekea kaskazini, nao ukatelemka hata hiyo Araba;
19 and the border passed along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.
kisha mpaka ukaendelea mbele ubavuni mwa Beth-hogla upande wa kaskazini; na matokeo ya mpaka yalikuwa katika ile hori ya kaskazini ya Bahari ya Chumvi, mwisho wa kusini wa mto wa Yordani; huo ndio mpaka wa upande wa kusini.
20 And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
Na mto wa Yordani ulikuwa ndio mpaka wake upande wa mashariki. Huo ndio urithi wa wana wa Benyamini, kwa kuandama mipaka yake kwa kuuzunguka kote kote, sawasawa na jamaa zao.
21 Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,
Basi miji ya kabila ya wana wa Benyamini kwa kuandama jamaa zao ilikuwa ni Yeriko, na Beth-hogla, na Emek-kesisi,
22 and Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el,
na Bethiaraba, na Semaraimu, na Betheli;
23 and Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,
na Avimu, na Para, na Ofra;
24 and Chephar-haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:
na Kefar-amoni, na Ofni, na Geba; miji kumi na miwili, pamoja na vijiji vyake;
25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,
na Gibeoni, na Rama, na Beerothi;
26 and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
na Mispa, na Kefira, na Moza;
27 and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,
na Rekemu, na Irpeeli, na Tarala;
28 and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
na Zela, na Elefu, na huyo Myebusi (ndio Yerusalemu), na Gibeathi, na Kiriathi; miji kumi na minne, pamoja na vijiji vyake. Huo ndio urithi wa wana wa Benyamini kwa kuandama jamaa zao.
