A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah.
1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised
In the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
Bwana ndiye aliye mkuu, Na mwenye kusifiwa sana. Katika mji wa Mungu wetu, Katika mlima wake mtakatifu.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth,
Is mount Zion, on the sides of the north,
The city of the great King.
Kuinuka kwake ni mzuri sana, Ni furaha ya dunia yote. Mlima Sayuni pande za kaskazini, Mji wa Mfalme mkuu.
3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.
Mungu katika majumba yake Amejijulisha kuwa ngome.
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled,
They passed by together.
Maana, tazama, wafalme walikusanyika; Walipita wote pamoja.
5 They saw it, and so they marvelled;
They were troubled, and hasted away.
Waliona, mara wakashangaa; Wakafadhaika na kukimbia.
6 Fear took hold upon them there,
And pain, as of a woman in travail.
Papo hapo tetemeko liliwashika, Utungu kama wa mwanamke azaaye.
7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish
With an east wind.
Kwa upepo wa mashariki Wavunja jahazi za Tarshishi.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God:
God will establish it for ever. Selah.
Kama tulivyosikia, ndivyo tulivyoona, Katika mji wa Bwana wa majeshi. Mji wa Mungu wetu; Mungu ataufanya imara hata milele.
9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God,
In the midst of thy temple.
Tumezitafakari fadhili zako, Ee Mungu, Katikati ya hekalu lako.
10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth:
Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
Kama lilivyo jina lako, Ee Mungu, Ndivyo na sifa yako hata miisho ya dunia. Mkono wako wa kuume umejaa haki;
11 Let mount Zion rejoice,
Let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.
Na ufurahi mlima Sayuni. Binti za Yuda na washangilie Kwa sababu ya hukumu zako.
12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her:
Tell the towers thereof.
Tembeeni katika Sayuni, Uzungukeni mji, Ihesabuni minara yake,
13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces;
That ye may tell it to the generation following.
Tieni moyoni boma zake, Yafikirini majumba yake, Mpate kuwaambia kizazi kitakachokuja.
14 For this God is our God for ever and ever:
He will be our guide even unto death.
Kwa maana ndivyo alivyo MUNGU, Mungu wetu. Milele na milele Yeye ndiye atakayetuongoza.
