1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water,
Kwa maana, tazama, Bwana, Bwana wa majeshi, awaondolea Yerusalemu na Yuda egemeo na tegemeo; tegemeo lote la chakula na tegemeo lote la maji;
2 the mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
mtu hodari na mtu wa vita; mwamuzi na nabii; mpiga ramli na mzee;
3 the captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
jemadari aliye juu ya watu hamsini, na mtu mstahifu, na mshauri, na fundi aliye mstadi, na mganga ajuaye uganga sana.
4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
Nami nitawapa watoto kuwamiliki, na watoto wachanga kuwatawala.
5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
Nao watu wataonewa, kila mtu na mwenziwe, na kila mtu na jirani yake; mtoto atajivuna mbele ya mzee, na mtu mnyonge mbele ya mtu mwenye heshima.
6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying , Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
Mtu atakapomshika ndugu yake ndani ya nyumba ya baba yake, akisema, Wewe una nguo, ututawale wewe; na mahali hapa palipobomoka pawe chini ya mkono wako;
7 in that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
basi, siku ile atainua sauti yake, akisema, Mimi sitakuwa mponya watu; kwa maana ndani ya nyumba yangu hamna chakula wala mavazi; wala hamtanifanya kuwa mtawala juu ya watu hawa.
8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
Kwa maana Yerusalemu umebomolewa na Yuda wameanguka, kwa sababu ulimi wao na matendo yao ni kinyume cha Bwana, hata wayachukize macho ya utukufu wake.
9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
Kuonekana kwa nyuso zao kwashuhudia juu yao, wafunua dhambi yao kama Sodoma, hawaifichi. Ole wa nafsi zao, kwa maana wamejilipa nafsi zao uovu.
10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
Waambieni wenye haki ya kuwa watakuwa heri, kwa maana watakula matunda ya matendo yao
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
Ole wake mtu mbaya; shari itakuwa kwake, kwa maana atapewa ijara ya mikono yake.
12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Katika habari za watu wangu, watoto ndio wanaowaonea, na wanawake ndio wanaowatawala. Enyi watu wangu, wakuongozao wakukosesha, waiharibu njia ya mapito yako.
13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
Bwana asimama ili atete, asimama ili awahukumu watu.
14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
Bwana ataingia katika kuwahukumu wazee wa watu wake na wakuu wao; Ninyi ndinyi mliokula shamba la mizabibu; vitu mlivyowateka maskini vi ndani ya nyumba zenu.
15 What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Ni nini maana yake, ninyi kuwaonea watu wangu, na kuseta nyuso za maskini? Asema Bwana, Bwana wa majeshi.
The Daughters of Zion
16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Bwana akasema tena, Kwa sababu binti za Sayuni wana kiburi, na kuenenda na shingo zilizonyoshwa, na macho ya kutamani, wakienenda kwa hatua za madaha, na kuliza njuga kwa miguu yao;
17 therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
Basi, kwa hiyo, Bwana atawapiga binti za Sayuni kwa pele za utosini, na Bwana ataifunua aibu yao.
18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet , and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
Siku hiyo Bwana atawaondolea uzuri wa njuga zao, na kaya zao;
19 the chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
na pete za masikio, na vikuku, na taji zao;
20 the bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
na dusumali, na mafurungu, na vitambi, na vibweta vya marashi, na matalasimu;
21 the rings, and nose jewels,
na pete, na azama,
22 the changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
na mavazi ya sikukuu, na debwani; na shali, na vifuko;
23 the glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
na vioo vidogo, na kitani nzuri, na vilemba, na utaji.
24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
Hata itakuwa ya kuwa badala ya manukato mazuri kutakuwa uvundo, na badala ya mishipi, kamba; na badala ya nywele zilizosukwa vizuri, upaa; na badala ya kisibau, mavazi ya kigunia; na kutiwa alama mwilini kwa moto badala ya uzuri.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
Watu wako waume wataanguka kwa upanga, na mashujaa wako vitani.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
Na malango yake yatalia na kuomboleza, naye atakuwa ukiwa, atakaa chini.
