Job's Reply
1 And Job answered and said,
Ndipo Ayubu akajibu, na kusema,
2 No doubt but ye are the people,
And wisdom shall die with you.
Hapana shaka ninyi ndinyi watu halisi, Nanyi mtakapokufa, ndipo na hekima itakoma.
3 But I have understanding as well as you;
I am not inferior to you:
Yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
Lakini mimi pia, nina fahamu kama ninyi; Mimi si duni yenu ninyi; Naam, ni nani asiyejua mambo kama hayo?
4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour,
Who calleth upon God, and he answereth him:
The just upright man is laughed to scorn.
Mimi ni mtu wa kuchekwa na jirani yake, Ni mtu niliyemwita Mungu, naye akanijibu; Huyo mwenye haki, aliye mtimilifu, amekuwa ni kicheko.
5 He that is ready to slip with his feet
Is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
Katika mawazo yake huyo aliye na raha mna kudharau mashaka; Tayari kwa ajili ya wenye kuteleza miguu.
6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper,
And they that provoke God are secure;
Into whose hand God bringeth abundantly .
Hema za wapokonyi hufanikiwa, Na hao wamkasirishao Mungu hukaa salama; Mikononi mwao Mungu huleta vitu vingi.
7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee;
And the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
Lakini sasa waulize hao wanyama, nao watakufundisha; Na nyuni wa angani, nao watakuambia;
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee:
And the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Au nena na nchi, nayo itakufundisha; Nao samaki wa baharini watakutangazia.
9 Who knoweth not in all these
That the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Katika hawa wote ni yupi asiyejua, Kwamba ni mkono wa Bwana uliofanya haya?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind.
Ambaye nafsi ya kila kilicho hai i mkononi mwake, Na pumzi zao wanadamu wote.
11 Doth not the ear try words?
And the mouth taste his meat?
Je! Sikio silo lijaribulo maneno, Kama vile kaakaa lionjavyo chakula?
12 With the ancient is wisdom;
And in length of days understanding.
Wazee ndio walio na hekima, Na katika kuishi siku nyingi iko fahamu.
13 With him is wisdom and strength,
He hath counsel and understanding.
Hekima na amri zina yeye [Mungu]; Yeye anayo mashauri na fahamu.
14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again:
He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Tazama, yuavunja, wala haiwezekani kujenga tena; Humfunga mtu, wala haiwezekani kumfungua.
15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up:
Also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
Tazama, yuayazuia maji, nayo yakatika; Tena, huyapeleka, nayo yaipindua dunia.
16 With him is strength and wisdom:
The deceived and the deceiver are his.
Kwake yeye ziko nguvu, na makusudi kufanikiwa; Huyo adanganywaye, na mdanganyi pia ni wake.
17 He leadeth counsellors away spoiled,
And maketh the judges fools.
Yeye huwaondoa washauri hali wametekwa nyara, Naye huwafanya waamuzi kuwa ni wapumbavu.
18 He looseth the bond of kings,
And girdeth their loins with a girdle.
Yeye hulegeza kifungo cha wafalme, Na kuwafunga viuno vyao kwa mshipi.
19 He leadeth princes away spoiled,
And overthroweth the mighty.
Yeye huwaondoa makuhani hali wametekwa nyara. Na kuwapindua mashujaa.
20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty,
And taketh away the understanding of the aged.
Huondoa matamko ya hao walioaminiwa, Na kuondoa fahamu za wazee.
21 He poureth contempt upon princes,
And weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
Humwaga aibu juu ya hao wakuu, Na kulegeza mshipi wa wenye nguvu.
22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness,
And bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
Huvumbua mambo ya siri tokea gizani, Na hicho kilicho giza tupu huleta mwangani.
23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them:
He enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again .
Huyaongeza mataifa, na kuyaangamiza; Huyaeneza mataifa mbali, na kuyaacha.
24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth,
And causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
Huwaondolea moyo wakuu wa watu wa nchi, Na kuwapoteza nyikani pasipokuwa na njia.
25 They grope in the dark without light,
And he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
Wao hupapasa gizani pasipokuwa na mwanga, Naye huwafanya kupepesuka kama vile mlevi.
