1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous:
For praise is comely for the upright.
Mpigieni Bwana vigelegele, enyi wenye haki, Kusifu kunawapasa wanyofu wa moyo.
2 Praise the LORD with harp:
Sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
Mshukuruni Bwana kwa kinubi, Kwa kinanda cha nyuzi kumi mwimbieni sifa.
3 Sing unto him a new song;
Play skilfully with a loud noise.
Mwimbieni wimbo mpya, Pigeni kwa ustadi kwa sauti ya shangwe.
4 For the word of the LORD is right;
And all his works are done in truth.
Kwa kuwa neno la Bwana lina adili, Na kazi yake yote huitenda kwa uaminifu.
5 He loveth righteousness and judgment:
The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
Huzipenda haki na hukumu, Nchi imejaa fadhili za Bwana.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made;
And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Kwa neno la Bwana mbingu zilifanyika, Na jeshi lake lote kwa pumzi ya kinywa chake.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap:
He layeth up the depth in storehouses.
Hukusanya maji ya bahari chungu chungu, Huviweka vilindi katika ghala.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD:
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Nchi yote na imwogope Bwana, Wote wakaao duniani na wamche.
9 For he spake, and it was done ;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
Maana Yeye alisema, ikawa; Na Yeye aliamuru, ikasimama.
10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought:
He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
Bwana huyabatilisha mashauri ya mataifa, Huyatangua makusudi ya watu.
11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever,
The thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Shauri la Bwana lasimama milele, Makusudi ya moyo wake vizazi na vizazi.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
Heri taifa ambalo Bwana ni Mungu wao, Watu aliowachagua kuwa urithi wake.
13 The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
Toka mbinguni Bwana huchungulia, Huwatazama wanadamu wote pia.
14 From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
Toka mahali pake aketipo Huwaangalia wote wakaao duniani.
15 He fashioneth their hearts alike;
He considereth all their works.
yeye aiumbaye mioyo yao wote Huzifikiri kazi zao zote.
16 There is no king saved by the multitude of an host:
A mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
Hapana mfalme aokokaye kwa wingi wa uwezo, Wala shujaa haokoki kwa wingi wa nguvu.
17 An horse is a vain thing for safety:
Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Farasi hafai kitu kwa wokovu, Wala hamponyi mtu kwa wingi wa nguvu zake.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him,
Upon them that hope in his mercy;
Tazama, jicho la Bwana li kwao wamchao, Wazingojeao fadhili zake.
19 To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.
Yeye huwaponya nafsi zao na mauti, Na kuwahuisha wakati wa njaa.
20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD:
He is our help and our shield.
Nafsi zetu zinamngoja Bwana; Yeye ndiye msaada wetu na ngao yetu.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in him,
Because we have trusted in his holy name.
Maana mioyo yetu itamfurahia, Kwa kuwa tumelitumainia jina lake takatifu.
22 Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us,
According as we hope in thee.
Ee Bwana, fadhili zako zikae nasi, Kama vile tulivyokungoja Wewe.
