1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
Kama si Bwana aliyekuwa pamoja nasi, Israeli na aseme sasa,
2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
Kama si Bwana aliyekuwa pamoja nasi, Wanadamu walipotushambulia.
3 Then they had swallowed us up quick,
When their wrath was kindled against us:
Papo hapo wangalitumeza hai, Hasira yao ilipowaka juu yetu
4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us,
The stream had gone over our soul:
Papo hapo maji yangalitugharikisha, Mto ungalipita juu ya roho zetu;
5 Then the proud waters,
Had gone over our soul.
Papo hapo yangalipita juu ya nafsi zetu Maji yafurikayo.
6 Blessed be the LORD,
Who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Na ahimidiwe Bwana; Asiyetutoa kuwa mawindo kwa meno yao.
7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:
The snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Nafsi yetu imeokoka kama ndege Katika mtego wa wawindaji, Mtego umevunjika, nasi tumeokoka.
8 Our help is in the name of the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
Msaada wetu u katika jina la Bwana, Aliyezifanya mbingu na nchi.
