1 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty,
Do they that know him not see his days?
Mbona nyakati zisiwekwe na Mwenyezi? Na hao wamjuao mbona hawazioni siku zake?
2 Some remove the landmarks;
They violently take away flocks, and feed thereof .
Wako waziondoao alama za mipaka; Huyachukua makundi kwa jeuri na kuyalisha.
3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless,
They take the widow's ox for a pledge.
Humfukuza punda wake asiye baba, Humtwaa rehani ng'ombe wake mwanamke mjane.
4 They turn the needy out of the way:
The poor of the earth hide themselves together.
Humgeuza mhitaji aiache njia; Maskini wa nchi hujificha pamoja.
5 Behold, as wild asses in the desert,
Go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey:
The wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
Tazama, kama punda-mwitu jangwani Wao hutoka kwenda kazini mwao, wakitafuta chakula kwa bidii; Jangwa huwapa chakula cha watoto wao.
6 They reap every one his corn in the field:
And they gather the vintage of the wicked.
Hukata nafaka zao mashambani; Na kuokota zabibu za waovu.
7 They cause the naked to lodge without clothing,
That they have no covering in the cold.
Hujilaza usiku kucha uchi pasipo nguo, Wala hawana cha kujifunika baridi.
8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains,
And embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
Hutota kwa manyunyo ya milimani, Na kuambatana na jabali kwa kukosa sitara,
9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast,
And take a pledge of the poor.
Wako wamwondoao matitini kwa nguvu huyo asiye na baba, Na kutwaa rehani kwa maskini;
10 They cause him to go naked without clothing,
And they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
Hata wazunguke uchi pasipo mavazi, Nao wakiwa na njaa huchukua miganda;
11 Which make oil within their walls,
And tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
Hushindika mafuta ndani ya makuta ya watu hao; Wakanyaga mashinikizo, nao wana kiu.
12 Men groan from out of the city,
And the soul of the wounded crieth out:
Yet God layeth not folly to them .
Watu huugua toka mji ulio na watu wengi, Na roho yake aliyejeruhiwa hupiga ukelele; Wala Mungu hauangalii upumbavu.
13 They are of those that rebel against the light;
They know not the ways thereof,
Nor abide in the paths thereof.
Hawa ni katika hao waliouasi mwanga; Hawazijui njia zake, Wala hawakai katika mapito yake.
14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy,
And in the night is as a thief.
Mwuaji huamka asubuhi kukipambauka, huwaua maskini na wahitaji; Tena wakati wa usiku yu kama mwivi.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight,
Saying, No eye shall see me:
And disguiseth his face.
Tena jicho lake mzinifu hungojea wakati wa giza-giza, Akisema, Hapana jicho litakaloniona; Naye huuficha uso wake.
16 In the dark they dig through houses,
Which they had marked for themselves in the daytime:
They know not the light.
Wao hutoboa nyumba gizani; Hujifungia ndani wakati wa mchana; Hawaujui mwanga.
17 For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death:
If one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
Kwani asubuhi kwao wote ni kama giza tupu; Kwani wao wavijua vitisho vya hiyo giza tupu.
18 He is swift as the waters;
Their portion is cursed in the earth:
He beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
Mwasema, Yeye ni mwepesi juu ya uso wa gharika; Sehemu yao inalaaniwa duniani; Hageuki kwenda njia ya mizabibuni.
19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters:
So doth the grave those which have sinned.
Chaka na hari hukausha maji ya theluji; Kuzimu nako hao ambao wamefanya dhambi.
20 The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him;
He shall be no more remembered;
And wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
Tumbo lililomzaa litamsahau; buu litamla na kuona tamu; Hatakumbukwa tena; Na udhalimu utavunjwa kama mti.
21 He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not:
And doeth not good to the widow.
Naam, yeye huwala walio tasa wasiozaa; Wala hamtendei mema mwanamke mjane.
22 He draweth also the mighty with his power:
He riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Lakini Mungu huwadumisha wenye uwezo kwa nguvu zake; Huinuka, wasiokuwa na tumaini la kuishi.
23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth;
Yet his eyes are upon their ways.
Huwapa kuwa na salama, nao wapumzika kwayo; Na macho yake ya juu ya njia zao.
24 They are exalted for a little while, but are gone
And brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other ,
And cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
Wao wametukuzwa; lakini kitambo kidogo hutoweka; Naam, hushushwa, na kuondolewa njiani kama wengine wote, Nao hukatwa kama vile masuke ya ngano.
25 And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar,
And make my speech nothing worth?
Na kama sivyo sasa, ni nani atakayenihukumu kuwa ni mwongo, Na kuyafanya maneno yangu kuwa si kitu?
