Enemies and Friends
1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Metheg-ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
Ikawa baadaye, Daudi akawapiga Wafilisti, akawashinda; Daudi akautwaa Gathi na vijiji vyake mikononi mwa hao Wafilisti.
2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
Akapiga Moabu, akawapima kwa kamba hali wamelazwa chini; akapima kamba mbili za kuuawa, na kamba moja nzima ya kuhifadhi hai. Wamoabi wakawa watumwa wa Daudi, wakaleta zawadi.
3 David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.
Tena Daudi akampiga Hadadezeri mwana wa Rehobu, mfalme wa Soba, alipokwenda kujipatia tena mamlaka yake huko Mtoni.
4 And David took from him a thousand chariots , and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses , but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.
Daudi akampokonya wapanda farasi elfu na mia saba na askari waliokwenda kwa miguu ishirini elfu; Daudi akawakata mshipa farasi wote wa magari, ila farasi wa magari mia akawasaza.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
Na Washami wa Dameski walipokuja kumsaidia Hadadezeri, mfalme wa Soba, Daudi akawapiga wa Washami watu ishirini na mbili elfu.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
Daudi akaweka ngome katika Shamu ya Dameski, na hao Washami wakawa watumwa wa Daudi, wakaleta zawadi. Naye Bwana akampa Daudi kushinda kila alikokwenda.
7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
Tena Daudi akazitwaa ngao za dhahabu zilizovaliwa na watumwa wa Hadadezeri, akazileta Yerusalemu.
8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
Tena toka Tebhathi na toka Berothai, miji ya Hadadezeri, Daudi akatwaa shaba nyingi mno.
9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,
Na Tou, mfalme wa Hamathi, aliposikia ya kwamba Daudi amewapiga jeshi lote la Hadadezeri,
10 then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
Tou akamtuma kwa Daudi Hadoramu mwanawe kusalimia, na kumbarikia, kwa sababu amepigana na Hadadezeri, na kumpiga; kwa maana Hadadezeri alikuwa amepigana vita juu ya Tou. Na mkononi mwake akaleta vyombo vya fedha, na vyombo vya dhahabu, na vyombo vya shaba;
11 which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;
hivi pia mfalme Daudi akavifanya wakfu kwa Bwana, pamoja na hiyo fedha, na dhahabu alizofanya wakfu za mataifa yote aliowashinda;
12 of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
za Edomu, na za Moabu, na za wana wa Amoni, na za Wafilisti, na za Amaleki, na za nyara za Hadadezeri, mwana wa Rehobu, mfalme wa Soba.
13 And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men .
Basi Daudi akajipatia jina, aliporudi kutoka kuwapiga Waedomi katika Bonde la Chumvi, watu kumi na nane elfu.
14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
Akaweka askari wenye kulinda ngome katika Edomu; katikati ya Edomu yote akaweka ngome, na Waedomi wote wakawa watumwa wa Daudi. Naye Bwana akampa Daudi kushinda kila alikokwenda.
15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.
Daudi akatawala juu ya Israeli wote; naye Daudi akawafanyia hukumu na haki watu wake wote.
16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
Huyo Yoabu, mwana wa Seruya alikuwa juu ya jeshi; na Yehoshafati, mwana wa Ahiludi, mwenye kuandika tarehe;
17 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;
na Sadoki, mwana wa Ahitubu, na Ahimeleki, mwana wa Abiathari walikuwa makuhani; na Shausha mwandishi;
18 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.
na Benaya, mwana wa Yehoyada, alikuwa juu ya Wakerethi na Wapelethi; nao wana wa Daudi wakawa makuhani.
