The Rulers at Ease
1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
Ole wao wanaostarehe katika Sayuni, na hao wanaokaa salama katika mlima wa Samaria, watu mashuhuri wa taifa lililo la kwanza, ambao nyumba ya Israeli huwaendea.
2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Piteni hata Kalne, mkaone; tena tokea huko enendeni hata Hamathi iliyo kuu; kisha shukeni hata Gathi ya Wafilisti; je! Ninyi ni bora kuliko falme hizi? Au mpaka wao ni mkubwa kuliko mpaka wenu?
3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
Ninyi mnaoiweka mbali siku hiyo mbaya, na kulileta karibu kao la udhalimu;
4 that lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
ninyi mnaolala juu ya vitanda vya pembe, na kujinyosha juu ya masemadari yenu; ninyi mnaokula wana-kondoo wa kundi, na ndama waliomo zizini;
5 that chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
ninyi mnaoimba nyimbo za upuzi pamoja na sauti ya vinanda, na kujifanyizia vinanda vya namna nyingi, kama vile Daudi;
6 that drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
ninyi mnaokunywa divai katika mabakuli, na kujipaka marhamu iliyo nzuri; lakini hawahuzuniki kwa sababu ya mateso ya Yusufu.
7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.
Basi kwa ajili ya hayo sasa watakwenda utumwani pamoja na wa kwanza watakaokwenda utumwani, na kelele za machezo za hao waliojinyosha zitakoma.
8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
Bwana MUNGU ameapa kwa nafsi yake, asema Bwana, Mungu wa majeshi; Naizira fahari ya Yakobo, nachukizwa na majumba yake; kwa sababu hiyo nitautoa huo mji, pamoja na wote waliomo ndani yake.
9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
Hata itakuwa, wakisalia wanaume kumi katika nyumba moja, watakufa.
10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
Na mjomba wa mtu atakapomwinua, yaani, yeye amchomaye moto, ili atoe mifupa yake nyumbani, naye atakapomwambia yeye aliye katika pande za ndani za nyumba, Je! Yuko mtu ye yote pamoja nawe? Naye atakaposema, La, hapana; ndipo atasema, Nyamaza kimya; maana hatuna ruhusa kulitaja jina la Bwana.
11 For, behold, the LORD commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
Kwa maana, angalia, Bwana atoa amri, na nyumba kubwa itapigwa na kuwa na mahali palipobomolewa, na nyumba ndogo nayo itapigwa iwe na nyufa.
12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:
Je! Farasi watapiga mbio juu ya mwamba? Je! Mtu atalima na ng'ombe huko? Hata mmegeuza hukumu kuwa uchungu, na matunda ya haki kuwa pakanga;
13 ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?
ninyi mnaolifurahia jambo lisilo na maana, msemao, Je! Hatukujipatia pembe kwa nguvu zetu wenyewe?
14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
Maana, angalia, nitaondokesha taifa juu yenu, enyi nyumba ya Israeli, asema Bwana, Mungu wa majeshi, nao watawatesa ninyi toka mahali pa kuingilia katika Hamathi hata kijito cha Araba.
