Judah's Kings
1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.
Katika mwaka wa ishirini na saba wa Yeroboamu mfalme wa Israeli Uzia mwana wa Amazia mfalme wa Yuda alianza kutawala.
2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
Alikuwa na umri wa miaka kumi na sita alipoanza kutawala; akatawala miaka hamsini na miwili huko Yerusalemu. Na jina la mamaye aliitwa Yekolia wa Yerusalemu.
3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;
Akafanya yaliyo mema machoni pa Bwana, kama yote aliyoyafanya babaye Amazia.
4 save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.
Ila mahali pa juu hapakuondolewa, nao watu wakaendelea kutoa sadaka na kufukiza uvumba katika mahali pa juu.
5 And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
Bwana akampiga mfalme, akawa na ukoma hata siku ya kufa kwake, akakaa katika nyumba ya pekee. Na Yothamu mwana wa mfalme alikuwa juu ya nyumba, akiwahukumu watu wa nchi.
6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Basi mambo yote ya Uzia yaliyosalia, nayo yote aliyoyafanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Yuda?
7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
Uzia akalala na babaze; wakamzika pamoja na babaze mjini mwa Daudi; na Yothamu mwanawe akatawala mahali pake.
Israel's Last Kings
8 In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
Katika mwaka wa thelathini na nane wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda Zekaria mwana wa Yeroboamu akatawala juu ya Israeli katika Samaria miezi sita.
9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
Akafanya yaliyo maovu machoni pa Bwana kama walivyofanya babaze; hakuyaacha makosa ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, ambayo kwa hayo aliwakosesha Israeli.
10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
Na Shalumu mwana wa Yabeshi akafanya fitina juu yake, akampiga mbele ya watu, akamwua, akatawala mahali pake.
11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
Basi mambo yote ya Zekaria yaliyosalia, tazama, yameandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli.
12 This was the word of the LORD which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons shall sit on the throne of Israel unto the fourth generation . And so it came to pass.
Hilo ndilo neno la Bwana alilomwambia Yehu, akisema, Wana wako watakaa kitini mwa Israeli hata kizazi cha nne. Ikawa vivyo hivyo.
13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.
Huyo Shalumu mwana wa Yabeshi alianza kutawala katika mwaka wa thelathini na kenda wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda; akatawala muda wa mwezi mmoja katika Samaria.
14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
Menahemu mwana wa Gadi akapanda kutoka Tirza, akaja Samaria, akampiga Shalumu mwana wa Yabeshi huko Samaria, akamwua, akatawala mahali pake.
15 And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
Basi mambo yote ya Shalumu yaliyosalia, na fitina aliyoifanya, tazama, yameandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli.
16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the coasts thereof from Tirzah: because they opened not to him , therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
Ndipo Menahemu akapiga Tifsa, na wote waliokuwamo, na mipaka yake, toka Tirza; kwa sababu hawakumfungulia, kwa hiyo akaupiga; nao wanawake wote waliokuwamo wenye mimba akawapasua.
17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
Katika mwaka wa thelathini na kenda wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda Menahemu mwana wa Gadi alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli, akatawala miaka kumi katika Samaria.
18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
Akafanya yaliyo maovu machoni pa Bwana; hakuyaacha siku zake zote makosa ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, ambayo kwa hayo aliwakosesha Israeli.
19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
Akaja Pulu mfalme wa Ashuru juu ya nchi; naye Menahemu akampa Pulu talanta elfu za fedha, ili kwamba mkono wake uwe pamoja naye, na ufalme uwe imara mkononi mwake.
20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
Na Menahemu akawatoza Israeli fedha hiyo, yaani, wakuu wote wenye mali, kila mtu shekeli hamsini za fedha, ili ampe huyo mfalme wa Ashuru. Basi mfalme wa Ashuru akarejea, wala hakukaa huko katika nchi.
21 And the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
Basi mambo yote ya Menahemu yaliyosalia, na yote aliyoyafanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli?
22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
Menahemu akalala na babaze; na Pekahia mwanawe akatawala mahali pake.
23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
Katika mwaka wa hamsini wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda Pekahia mwana wa Menahemu alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli hatika Samaria; akatawala miaka miwili.
24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
Akafanya yaliyo maovu machoni pa Bwana; hakuyaacha makosa ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, ambayo kwa hayo aliwakosesha Israeli.
25 But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
Na Peka mwana wa Remalia, jemadari wake, akamfanyia fitina, akampiga huko Samaria, katika ngome ya nyumba ya mfalme, pamoja na Argobu na Arie; na pamoja naye walikuwako watu hamsini wa Wagileadi. Akamwua, akatawala mahali pake.
26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
Katika mwaka wa hamsini na mbili wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda Peka mwana wa Remalia alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli katika Samaria; akatawala miaka ishirini.
28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
Akafanya yaliyo maovu machoni pa Bwana; hakuyaacha makosa ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, ambayo kwa hayo aliwakosesha Israeli.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
Katika siku za Peka mfalme wa Israeli akaja Tiglath-pileseri mfalme wa Ashuru, akatwaa Iyoni, na Abel-beth-maaka, na Yanoa, na Kedeshi, na Hazori, na Gileadi, na Galilaya, nchi yote ya Naftali; akawahamisha hao watu mpaka Ashuru.
30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.
Na Hoshea mwana wa Ela akafanya fitina juu ya Peka mwana wa Remalia, akampiga, akamwua, akatawala mahali pake, katika mwaka wa ishirini wa Yothamu mwana wa Uzia.
31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

Jotham
32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
Katika mwaka wa pili wa Peka mwana wa Remalia mfalme wa Israeli Yothamu mwana wa Uzia mfalme wa Yuda alianza kutawala.
33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
Alikuwa na umri wa miaka ishirini na mitano alipoanza kutawala; akatawala miaka kumi na sita katika Yerusalemu; na jina la mamaye aliitwa Yerusha binti Sadoki.
34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
Akafanya yaliyo mema machoni pa Bwana; akafanya kama yote aliyoyafanya Uzia baba yake.
35 Howbeit the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burned incense still in the high places. He built the higher gate of the house of the LORD.
Ila mahali pa juu hapakuondolewa; watu walikuwa wakitoa sadaka na kufukiza uvumba katika mahali pa juu. Ndiye aliyelijenga lango la juu la nyumba ya Bwana.
36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Basi mambo yote ya Yothamu yaliyosalia, na yote aliyoyafanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Yuda?
37 In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
Zamani hizo akaanza Bwana kumtuma juu ya Yuda Resini mfalme wa Shamu, na Peka mwana wa Remalia.
38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
Yothamu akalala na babaze, akazikwa pamoja na babaze katika mji wa Daudi baba yake. Na Ahazi mwanawe akatawala mahali pake.
