Sons of Israel
1 These are the sons of Israel; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,
Hawa ndio wana wa Israeli; Reubeni, na Simeoni, na Lawi, na Yuda, na Isakari, na Zabuloni;
2 Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

3 The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: which three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him.

4 And Tamar his daughter in law bare him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

5 The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.
Wana wa Peresi; Hesroni, na Hamuli.
6 And the sons of Zerah; Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara: five of them in all.
Na wana wa Zera; Zabdi, na Ethani, na Hemani, na Kalkoli, na Darda; hao wote ni watano.
7 And the sons of Carmi; Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the thing accursed.

8 And the sons of Ethan; Azariah.
Na wana wa Ethani; Azaria.
9 The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.
Tena wana wa Hesroni aliozaliwa; Yerameeli, na Ramu, na Kalebu.
10 And Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;
Na Ramu akamzaa Aminadabu; na Aminadabu akamzaa Nashoni, mkuu wa wana wa Yuda;
11 and Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,
na Nashoni akamzaa Salmoni; na Salmoni akamzaa Boazi;
12 and Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,
na Boazi akamzaa Obedi; na Obedi akamzaa Yese;
13 and Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimma the third,
na Yese akamzaa Eliabu, mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, na wa pili Abinadabu, na wa tatu Shama;
14 Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
na wa nne Nethaneli, na wa tano Radai;
15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:
na wa sita Ozemu, na wa saba Daudi;
16 whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. And the sons of Zeruiah; Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.
na maumbu yao ni Seruya, na Abigaili. Na wana wa Seruya walikuwa, Abishai, na Yoabu, na Asaheli; hao watatu.
17 And Abigail bare Amasa: and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmeelite.
Na Abigaili akamzaa Amasa; na babaye Amasa ni Yetheri, Mwishmaeli.
18 And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.
Basi Kalebu, mwana wa Hesroni, akazaliwa wana na mkewe Azubu, na Yeriothi, na hawa ndio wanawe wa kiume; Yesheri, na Shobabu, na Ardoni.
19 And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.
Akafa Azuba, naye Kalebu akamtwaa Efrathi, aliyemzalia Huri.
20 And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
Naye Huri akamzaa Uri; na Uri akamzaa Besaleli.
21 And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.
Na baadaye Hesroni akamwingilia binti wa Makiri, babaye Gileadi; ambaye alimtwaa alipokuwa mwenye miaka sitini; naye akamzalia Segubu.
22 And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead.
Na Segubu akamzaa Yairi, aliyekuwa mwenye miji ishirini na mitatu katika nchi ya Gileadi.
23 And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
Na Geshuri na Aramu wakawapokonya miji ya Yairi, pamoja na Kenathi na miji yake, jumla yote miji sitini. Hao wote ni wana wa Makiri, babaye Gileadi.
24 And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron's wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.
Tena, baada ya kufa kwake Hesroni huko Kalebu-Efrata, ndipo Abia, mkewe Hesroni, alipomzalia Ashuri, babaye Teboa.
25 And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah.
Na wana wa Yerameeli, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Hesroni, walikuwa Ramu, mzaliwa wa kwanza, na Buna, na Oreni, na Ozemu; kwa Ahiya.
26 Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
Naye Yerameeli alikuwa na mke mwingine, jina lake Atara; yeye alikuwa mamaye Onamu.
27 And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
Na wana wa Ramu, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Yerameeli, walikuwa Maasi, na Yamini, na Ekeri.
28 And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur.
Na wana wa Onamu walikuwa Shamai, na Yada; na wana wa Shamai; Nadabu, na Abishuri.
29 And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.
Na mkewe Abishuri aliitwa jina lake Abihaili; naye akamzalia Abani, na Molidi.
30 And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children.
Na wana wa Nadabu; Seledi, na Apaimu; walakini Seledi alikufa hana watoto.
31 And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai.
Na wana wa Apaimu; Ishi. Na wana wa Ishi; Sheshani. Na wana wa Sheshani; Alai.
32 And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children.
Na wana wa Yada, nduguye Shamai; Yetheri, na Yonathani; naye Yetheri akafa hana watoto.
33 And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
Na wana wa Yonathani; Pelethi, na Zaza. Hao ndio wana wa Yerameeli.
34 Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
Basi huyo Sheshani alikuwa hana wana wa kiume, ila binti. Naye Sheshani alikuwa na mtumwa, Mmisri, jina lake akiitwa Yarha.
35 And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai.
Basi akamwoza binti yake aolewe na Yarha, mtumwa wake; naye akamzalia Atai.
36 And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,
Na Atai akamzaa Nathani; na Nathani akamzaa Zabadi;
37 and Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,
na Zabadi akamzaa Eflali; na Eflali akamzaa Obedi;
38 and Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,
na Obedi akamzaa Yehu; na Yehu akamzaa Azaria;
39 and Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,
na Azaria akamzaa Helesi; na Helesi akamzaa Eleasa
40 and Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,
na Eleasa akamzaa Sismai; na Sismai akamzaa Shalumu;
41 and Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.
na Shalumu akamzaa Yekamia; na Yekamia akamzaa Elishama.
42 Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were , Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
Na wana wa Kalebu, nduguye Yerameeli, walikuwa Mesha, mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, aliyekuwa babaye Zifu; na wana wa Maresha, babaye Hebroni.
43 And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.
Na wana wa Hebroni; Kora, na Tapua, na Rekemu, na Shema.
44 And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai.
Naye Shema akamzaa Rahamu, babaye Yorkeamu; na Rekemu akamzaa Shamai.
45 And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Beth-zur.
Na mwana wake Shamai alikuwa Maoni; na Maoni alikuwa babaye Bethsuri.
46 And Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bare Haran, and Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez.
Naye Efa, suria yake Kalebu, alimzaa Harani, na Mosa, na Gazezi; naye Harani akamzaa Gazezi.
47 And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Gesham, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.
Na wana wa Yadai; Regemu, na Yothamu, na Geshani, na Peleti, na Efa, na Shaafu.
48 Maachah, Caleb's concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah.
Naye Maaka, suria yake Kalebu, akamzalia Sheberi, na Tirhana.
49 She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsa.
Tena akamzaa Shaafu, babaye Madmana; na Sheva babaye Makbena; na babaye Gibea; naye binti Kalebu alikuwa Aksa.
50 These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim,
Hao walikuwa wana wa Kalebu. Wana wa Huri, mzaliwa wa kwanza wa Efrathi; Shobali, babaye Kiriath-Yearimu;
51 Salma the father of Beth-lehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader.
Salma, babaye Bethlehemu; na Harefu, babaye Beth-gaderi.
52 And Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.
Naye Shobali, babaye Kiriath-Yearimu, alikuwa na wana; Haroe, na nusu ya Wamenuhothi.
53 And the families of Kirjath-jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites.
Na jamaa za Kiriath-Yearimu; Waithri, na Waputhi, na Washumathi, na Wamishrai; katika hao walitoka Wasorathi, na Waeshtaoli.
54 The sons of Salma; Beth-lehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.
Na wana wa Salma; Bethlehemu, na Wanetofathi, Atroth-beth-Yoabu, na nusu ya Wamenuhothi, na Wazori.
55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
Na jamaa za waandishi waliokaa Yabesi; Watirathi, na Washimeathi, na Wasukathi. Hao ndio Wakeni, waliotoka kwake Hamathi, babaye mbari ya Rekabu.
